Hello family and friends!
This week has been lovely!
Monday was a great P-Day-- all we really do is laundry and write
letters!
Yes, I am in a three-some! Sister Clark and Sister Dunham!
Tuesday we went to see our Brazilian/catholic friend at her
studio so she could sketch us while we talked.... she didn't stop talking! And
it wasn't going anywhere so we had to drop her :/ That’s sad because I love her
so much --she is such a sweetheart!
At 4:00 we had to start our trek to Midland for zone conference
Wednesday! long trip but great fun! We stayed in other sister’s
apartments and it was tiny!! we had 9 people in the apartment --3 on beds and 6
on the floor!!! SQUISHHYYY!!! It was fun. (I still do not enjoy the
floor-)
Wednesday we had zone conference with everybody on 1/2 of our
mission! Because we had a member of the 70 come to do a mission tour! We had
William R. Walker come!! It was lots of fun! We were able to shake his hand and
stuff! It was cool! That lasted all day!
This week as far as investigators- we weren't able to go see
Heather this week and she didn't come to church so we are going to have to
change her bap date :/
Chris- googled our church and got wickapedias answers about what
we believe.... that made her VERY uneasy!! Understandable, right!! But we were
able to talk her through it and we gave her Mormon.org to get information from!
We still haven't re-set a bap date and she didn't come to church.
Monica was very, very awesome! We went and she had a houseful of
kids, but we taught! The kids were crazy, but she was so engaged (in the
lesson) she wasn't paying any attention to the chaos!! She accepted baptism
right away! October 19th! Hope we can keep it! She doesn't have a car so
getting to church is going to be a challenge :(
Thats about all for investigators!
Friday we got to go to the R.S. Broadcast!!! AWESOME! LOVED
EVERY MOMENT OF IT!!! LOTS OF NOTES PRES. MONSON WAS TALKING TO ME!
The other sisters in this area are having great success… They
had 2 investigators at church yesterday!
Yesterday was my first testimony meeting... and it was
"that testimony meeting where you want to take your investigators out…
then hide under a chair"!!!
It was great--- here is how it went!
The first 5 testimonies were wonderful! Then one of our sketch
girls got up to share her testimony! She is 20 and a convert of 1 1/2 years!
This is how it goes:
"So yesterday was my brothers birthday, and y’all know how
I am with birthdays! I love them and all I want to do is go to a club and go
dancing, so that’s what we did. But ya know, I don't need one drop of alcohol
to have the best personality and time at the club! I haven't
had 1 drop of alcohol since 1 week before the elders found me! I am
so grateful god gave us personalities. So while at the club I went
to the bathroom and I read this sign that said, "Be carful your fun
tonight might be your baby daddy tomorrow." (This is in
sacrament) ---then she busts a gut laughing. THEN SHE GOES INTO THE IMPORTANCE
OF THE LAW OF CHASTITY! -She then proceeds to say I have never had a boyfriend-
and don't think it's because I can't get one because I can... plenty of
them. (Does the whole black girls finger snap Z thing ON THE PULPIT!) Then
tells us that our ward doesn't talk about it enough and we should talk about it
more..."
MIND YOU OUR WARD IS OLD PEOPLE!!! She then says chastity
doesn't mean sex, but porn and all sorts of stuff.... (No testimony really in
all of this)
..... Let’s conclude --I think we are going to lose one of the
investigators and another one is SOLID AND AWESOME!!!
I was so appalled-- like in fetal position on the chair about to
die......
So when she is done we have about 5 min left ---I jump up there
and try to get the spirit back in that room. (I was able to pull it back!)
Eeeeeeekkkk I am sure your hearts were pulling while reading this... just
imagine being there.. 50X better!
This week we have interviews with President. I am very excited!
And GENERAL CONFERENCE!!!!! IT'S CHRISTAMS FOR MISSIONARIES TWICE A YEAR!!!!
SOOOOO EXCITING! WE WILL HAVE LOTS TO TALK ABOUT MONDAY!!
